Parish Religious Education Program (PREP/CCD) for Children | The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea

Education in the faith is the privilege of parents. The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea Children’s Religious Education program assists parents in the education of children in the Catholic faith, including preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Whether your family is actively involved, just entering the Church, returning to the practice of the Catholic faith, or delayed your child’s sacramental preparation, all are welcome.

CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) is an engaging and fun academic program designed to help your child strengthen the foundations of their faith — while encouraging them to become intentional disciples of Jesus Christ.

Religious Education enrollment for Fall 2025-2026 is now open

Religious Education Classes for children (K-7) will begin Thursday, September 22nd at 5:45pm and are held every Thursday evening at the Basilica School (700 Truman Avenue). Classes run through May. There are no classes held during school breaks.
